Barbra Warsetsky, LCSW Barbra Warsetsky, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has been practicing for over twenty five years in the field of counseling. She graduated form Rutgers University in 1979 with a Masters degree in social work. In 1986 at the Training Institute for Mental Health Practitioners in New York City she completed a two year certificate program, working with first and second generation Holocaust survivors.
Early in Ms. Warsetsky’s career she worked for Monmouth Family Center in New Jersey where she was a family caseworker doing intake, and case management with children of abused and neglected families. Her philosophy was to always strive to keep families together. To achieve this goal she would work to provide the necessary resources. She ran groups for Parents United, a non profit organization that worked with sexual abuse victims and their families. She has presented papers at two international conferences, Zurich 1987, London 1989, on sexual abuse and related problems.
In 1992 Ms. Warsetsky moved to Florida with her husband and four children and worked for Broward Mobile Crisis. She also continued to practice psychotherapy on an out patient basis. She worked for Hollywood Medical Center at their senior health care center in Pembroke Pines. She was their community resource person. She ran groups for Holocaust survivors and oversaw many of the programs at the center.
Today Ms. Warsetsky’s counseling practice includes working with children, families and individuals. Specializing in trauma work it includes, PTSD, eating disorders, sexual abuse survivors and holocaust and second generation issues.
