Dr. Felicia Ann Tralongo is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been in private practice since 1997. She has a specialty practice in Child, Adolescent, and Family and devotes about half of her professional time in this matter. The other half of her practice includes treatment of adults and couples. Dr. Tralongo is also highly trained and as worked extensively in the area of psychological testing and assessment. She regularly conducts Psychological and Psycho-Educational Testing for both adults and children, including assessment for giftedness, learning disability, ADHD, and psychological disability or diagnosis.
Dr. Tralongo was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she graduated summa cum laude with Honors in Psychology. Dr. Tralongo pursued her professional training at Nova Southeastern University, where she achieved her Masters Degree and Doctoral Degree in Psychology. She completed her clinical internship at Miami Children’s Hospital Department of Psychiatry and a post-doctoral clinical residency at 45th Street Mental Health Center.
Dr. Tralongo sees individuals, families, and couples for both short and long term therapy, depending on the particular patient’s needs and clinical picture. Although she treats a broad spectrum of psychological disorders and adjustment reactions, she has worked extensively in the areas of trauma, relationship issues, divorce, and ADHD as well as in the treatment of adolescents. She has been specifically trained in play therapy for children and will see children experiencing difficulties as young as three years old. While her orientation tends to be psychodynamic, she operates from an eclectic framework so that a patient’s treatment is tailored to their individual goals and clinical needs. She is also well versed in cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches for particular disorders or symptoms, such as in Barlow’s treatment for anxiety and panic disorders. Dr. Tralongo has a highly interpersonal style of therapy and emphasis is placed on a solid therapeutic alliance. She is well connected to the community and collaborates with specialty physicians, schools, and other psychologists and psychiatrists.
Finally, Dr. Tralongo has been well acquainted with legal system in providing deposition and testimony and has worked in the capacity as fact and expert witness in the courts. She participates in legal consultation, conducts court ordered assessment and treatment, and has served as Guardian Ad Litem. Finally, Dr. Tralongo has presented at many seminars, workshops, and in-service trainings in the tri-county community.
Dr. Tralongo is available for appointment in both the Coral Springs and Boca office, with hours available in the early evenings and on Saturdays.
